While for many this day is a celebration of romantic love, others acknowledge the Christian St. Valentine with the associated stories and legends, while in many countries this is called ‘the Day of Friendship’, and some may see it merely as a ‘Hallmark’ holiday for the retail world. However you see this day, it does bring the focus on LOVE!
Yet, it is rare to see any emphasis on self love which may be not only the most challenging, but the truest and most powerful Love of all. For when one actually, mentally, physically and emotionally loves one Self, it incorporates deep understanding of all the challenges a human may encounter in their life. It also exudes true compassion, not feeling sorry or sorrow for another, but a recognition of their chosen path incorporating deep empathy and acceptance.
In order to have this true love we must come to know and FEEL all the encompassing emotions within as they relate to our self view, self respect, self esteem, and self worth. This ever deeper exploration and discovery is the challenge and the adventure of the awakening process occurring now. This level of Self love naturally creates connection to the many parts of oneself (mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and energetic) and allows for a full realization of the interconnection to not only other human beings, but to the essence and energy of aspects of Nature and the Cosmos. This can then spontaneously open the doors to other realities and dimensions, experiencing the ‘largeness’ of Self which generates even more opportunity to ‘Know thyself’ and Love thyself on an ever widening scale! Again leading to more True Love of the Outer world as the True Love of one’s Inner world deepens.
